DRIVEN TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Woodhouse has been a proud supporter of the Food Bank BackPack program for the past 14 years and have contributed over $11 million to directly support the mental and physical health of children across Nebraska and western Iowa. Our support continues into the new year with Woodhouse matching up to $500,000 of donations in hopes of reaching our goal of $1 million. In addition, to help bring more community awareness to child hunger we are partnering with Husker athlete, Bekka Allick as our first official Woodhouse Gives Ambassador.

Allick continues to shine on the court while wearing her Scarlet and Cream jersey. She was named Big Ten Freshman of the week twice in October 2022 and honored as a member of the All-Big Ten Freshman Team 2022. Bekka enters her Sophomore season as a Husker with 1.89 kills per set and a team-high .326 hitting percentage.

THE FOOD BANK BACKPACK PROGRAM

The BackPack program is a partnership with local area schools that offer packs of weekend breakfast and lunches to children that have been identified as food insecure. Each week during the school year, 8,381 packs of easy-to-prepare or ready-to-eat nutritious foods are distributed to children in 253 schools in 112 school districts across Nebraska and western Iowa. These BackPacks provide children not only meals, but the opportunity to thrive in school, better reach developmental milestones, and be kids.
